Yang dimaksud dengan embedded librarian ialah integritas dari pustakawan dan layanan perpustakaan didalam sebuah organisasi unit departemen atau tim.
Adapun tujuan dari embedded librarian yaitu:

b. Physical proximity
c. Miniature group-centric
d. Experts Esther than generalisasi

Selanjutnya ada karakteristik embedded librarian antara lain:
a. Group not angka individual
b. Support from organisasional and associates
c. Commercial outlook
d. Risk-taking competence
e. Tranformation of library science to information science
f. Making dependable relationship

h. Don't just think, but act
